I opened the app and used the controls but nothing is happening?

When the app is first opened it will need 5-10 seconds to connect to a proxy. Once the app has connected to a proxy the communication with the devices in the network is active. Another method to ensure you are connected is the Proxy Picker icon where you can manually select the proxy to connect too.
