A Smarter Approach to Constant-Voltage Lighting Control: BubblyNet D-BV9 Recognized by the 2026 IES Progress Report

BubblyNet’s 32W Max | Bluetooth Mesh 2CH DC-DC Converter (D-BV9) has been recognized in the 2026 IES Progress Report as a “unique and significant advancement to the art and science of lighting.” The recognition reflects an approach to constant-voltage lighting that combines low-voltage power conversion with wireless, individually addressable control.

With one 96W non-dimmable power supply, up to 42 D-BV9 units can be connected, with each fixture individually addressable for static or tunable white applications.

That architecture offers a different way to think about lighting installation and control. Rather than relying on conventional wired dimming infrastructure to determine how fixtures are grouped and controlled, the D-BV9 moves that intelligence closer to the fixture. Once connected to a BubblyNet network, fixtures can be managed through the BubblyNet app or incorporated into scenes, sensor responses, switches, and touchscreen controls.

For designers, this creates greater freedom to fine-tune a space after installation. Static white fixtures can be dimmed to create the appropriate light level, while tunable white fixtures can be adjusted to support different environments and activities. Lighting zones and scenes can also be modified as the needs of a space evolve.

The D-BV9 is also designed as a Class 2 low-voltage converter, helping simplify installation by eliminating the requirement for a metal or junction box enclosure. Its compact form factor further supports integration into a wide range of lighting applications.

The result is a control strategy that makes constant-voltage lighting more adaptable without adding complexity to the user experience. Whether the goal is individualized fixture control, tunable white functionality, responsive scenes, or a lighting system that can be adjusted over time, the D-BV9 provides a wireless foundation for creating more flexible environments.
